Yes it is! The basic character of a spokesperson, for any cause, ought to be beyond reproach. If not, that spokesperson will just add ammunition to the opposition of your cause.

Joan Wheeler has gone out of her way to depict and present each member, of the birth family, in slanderous libelous ways! This makes NOT a good spokesperson for adoption reform! If she treats the birth family in the way she does how can she be trusted?

Ruth’s addition here: Yes, I agree. Any “spokesperson” who is taking on any “social justice” issue, especially when minors are involved, as her new involvement in her Unitarian Universalist church will involve (spring of 2014) – especially when that person publicly puts on Twitter that she fantasizes blowing up government offices, and in the past interfered with the minor child of her own birthsibling (telling Gert’s 15 year old NOT to listen…
